Tantalus Announces Peter Londa as President and CEO

Smart Grid veteran and former CEO of BPL Global, Ltd. joins leading public power AMI firm

Raleigh, NC – April 23, 2014 – Tantalus, a leading provider of Smart Grid communications, today announced its Board of Directors has appointed Peter Londa as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Board member.  Londa joins Tantalus after an extensive search led by the Chairman of the Board, John McEwen, Co-CEO of Discovery Capital.

“Tantalus is experiencing a positive growth trajectory, and with the evolution of our newly enhanced communications platform, TUNet®, the Company is poised for significant progression,” stated McEwen. “We firmly believe that Pete’s strong smart grid technology background coupled with his proven track record of driving operational and growth-oriented objectives make him the ideal candidate to propel the Company to the next level.”

Londa previously served as the CEO of BPL Global (BPLG), a smart grid company delivering technology solutions to the electric utility industry with operations in the United States, Europe, Middle East, India, and China. He was responsible for planning, directing, and managing all aspects of the Company’s strategy, operations, engineering, business development, and financing. Londa was instrumental in executing the sale of BPLG to a division of Danaher Corporation (NYSE: DHR) in 2013. Londa is a results-driven and customer-oriented technology executive with strong leadership skills and a history of delivering substantial corporate performance. Prior to joining BPLG, he held various positions within world-class investment banking firms and technology companies including The Chart Group, L.P., Thoughtworks, Inc., and SG Cowen.

“I am extremely honored to lead the team at Tantalus,” said Londa. “Tantalus is on the forefront of delivering AMI solutions to public power utilities, and the capability and field-proven strength of our platform is unmatched in the industry. We have all the technological and operational elements in place to immediately address real utility needs with applications that can improve operating efficiency and reliability for our customers. My objective is to ensure that these elements are brought together in a way that maximizes the quality of the solutions we deliver to our customers, fully leverages the talent and resources at our Company’s disposal, and maximizes revenue and profitability to increase value for our shareholders.”

Londa has taken over for outgoing CEO Eric Murray, who transitioned from the company after a decade in various leadership and executive positions within Tantalus. Murray was instrumental in accelerating the company’s growth plan, solidifying Tantalus’ market position as a leading AMI utility partner in public power, and establishing significant strategic alliances with the industry’s leading technology providers.
